African Safari Resort

Role: Project Designer

Floating above an established wildebeest migration path, these proposed modern tree houses will provide rare and unprecedented panoramic views to the spectacular wildebeest annual migration.  Grouped three vertical living units to each cluster, the proposed tree top villas are fully furnished with the latest modern amenities and are configured as self-sufficient living units utilizing both geothermal and photo-voltaic systems to satisfy energy consumption.

Designed as an abstracted representation of the African acacia tree, the proposed first “grove” will include 10 clusters, strategically located to maximize views to the African savanna and to minimize site disturbance.

Design by Howard Chen while at Quantum-AIP as Founding Partner/ Design Director (2009-2015)
