Designed as an iconic and flexible structure to host international high fashion shows and musical events, the architectural form of the proposed 300,000 SF Qinhuangdao Fashion – Music Performance Hall is an abstracted representation of an emerging lotus flower. Located inside a man-made gulf, and surrounded by spectacular water fountains synchronized to run with preprogrammed music from around the world, this modern building is one of many catalysts, that will help activate the new Qinhuangdao waterfront.
Clad in stainless steel with various degrees of reflectivity, and uniquely recognizable through its bold and fluid form, the sensuous structure is an embodiment of the latest construction technologies.
This design proposal was completed in 2013 as one of a collection of purely conceptual proposals for a Chinese developer interested in exploring potential real estate development opportunities in Qinhuangdao, China.
