Maritime Culture & Exhibition Center at Kaohsiung Popular Music Complex

Role: Project Designer

The Maritime Exhibition Center on the eastern site of the Kaohsiung Popular Music Complex Master Plan competition proposal will be a state-of-the-art 75,000 sf facility housing exhibits, conference halls, and ancillary retail.  Adjacent to this venue, the arrangement of integrated greenbelts punctuated by large urban spaces and commercial zones broaden the waterfront boardwalk and provide accessibility into the site via bicycles, motorcycles, mass transit and water taxi transit.

Anchoring the southern tip of this east site parcel is the iconic Love Tower -named after the historic Love River.  Its architectural expression is that of vertical gyrating musical ribbons. It is a welcoming maritime beacon for the project and will contain the history of Kaohsiung and the Love River.

I was the lead project designer for this competition proposal.  This was one of three international design competitions in Taiwan I entered between 2011-2012.
